Egyptian Women’s Academic Network in Germany

EWAN

Empowering Egyptian Female Researchers in Germany

Egyptian Women’s Academic Network in Germany (EWAN) is an initiative to support Egyptian academic and research women in Germany and Egypt. Establish connections, hold meetings, and engage in discussions for knowledge sharing and support.

EWAN aims to assist in the goals of GESR e. specifically for the Egyptian academic and research women community in Germany and Egypt.

Comprises Egyptian female researchers across various fields and academic stages in Germany.

Main goal: Establish connections, hold meetings, and engage in discussions that foster information and knowledge sharing, mutual support, and assistance when required.

First Meeting

Aiming to launch the EWAN project by introducing its purpose, stages, goals, and vision.

Each new network member introduced herself academically and professionally, filling the session with inspirational stories about their research and social experiences related to scientific research.

Second Meeting

In this meeting, members of EWAN will share their experiences in applying for specific academic opportunities and the challenges they encountered. The focus is on understanding that persistence and dedication are key to success in the application process, and that failure does not signify the end but rather an opportunity to learn and grow. Some members will present their personal stories, each speaking for 10 minutes. The discussion will inspire other researchers to continue their academic journey and apply for significant international opportunities without losing hope. The session will provide valuable advice on making successful applications, overcoming obstacles, and handling challenging situations.
